Contact/Separation is a photo essay written in response to the sudden passing of Sampson's Mother in late 2015.
6 weeks after her death, Sampson discovered 2 rolls of unprocessed 35mm film used during the last day they spent they spent together; clearing his late Grandfather's home.
The essay was put together to explore the emotions and experiences surrounding these events. Within the work Sampson explore's our connection with the image, the difficulties of seeing a new photograph of the deceased and the emotional possibilities of experiencing a new moment with his Mother.
All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
